The Brown- Haired Girl (A Common Love Story)

So, I got some really random inspiration the other day and wrote a poem. I think it turned out pretty good :)

The Brown-Haired Girl (A Common Love Story)

Part I
I fell in love
With a brown-haired girl
Her eyes were the deepest blue

Oh I fell in love
With a brown-haired girl
Her beauty it was true

Across her face, her freckles rest
Matching the ones upon her chest

And in the night
Her eyes would light
As she marveled at the stars

Tall and thin
It's hard to begin
To describe the way she walked

Evenly paced
were her steps of grace

Aesthetics weren't her beauty, though
Her smile was much too wide
But it added a sense of realism

To the way
She laughed
Or cried

Part II
I fell in love
With a funny girl
Her eyes were sparkling blue

Oh, I fell in love
WIth a funny girl
Who's compassion was quite true

Her jokes were often strange
But they were a nice change

The way she laughed
Was like a draft
Sending shivers up my spine

She smiled at all
 I do recall,
To even those who frowned

Her laugh would lighten up my heart
I had to love her from the start

Humor was not her beauty, though
her laugh was much too loud
But it added a sense of comfort

When she tried
To help
Us out

Part III
I fell in love
With an intelligent girl
Who eye's were not quite blue

Oh I fell in love
With an intelligent girl
Who's eyes would challenge your view

She would share her thought,
But rarely fought

Oh she was strong
For when proved wrong
She wouldn't hesitate to change

Oh I fell in love
With a wonderful girl
Who's eyes were dark blue

Oh I fell in love
With an unusual girl
But this story is hardly new

"Who is Your God?" A poem/ An explanation of my school year

We all have a god... maybe not a religious god, but something that fills the place for a god. Idk this was written over multiple weeks while I was in various moods. Take no offense. (And as ya'll know I am Christian, so yeah... idk i feel like i should say that. Also, I immagine the voice of this poem to be something like Benedict Cumberbatch/ Khan? idk what's up with that lol)

Who is Your God?
By Shaak Ti/ Aithusa

Who is your god?
Is it the one they worship in the little chapel
on Sunday morning?
The one that Catholic elders
And Jewish children
Gain their wisdom?

Or is it the chaos that surrounds us?
The falling trees and the swirling of an endless void-
Only to be dragged into an oblivion of silence and despair?
Is it the belief that you have no god
Which brings you to your conclusion that you are religionless,
When religion itself is defined
As something we are all a part of?

Who is your god?

Is it the god of the ancients?
The one with many forms who cannot be defined as
One entity,
But as many?
They are lost to us.

Is your god a god of the ice and of the fire?
Or a god of rage and war?
Does your god have wings
Or a scepter
Or a crown?

Does your god condemn love and support hatred?
Or does it act out violence in the name
of converting the masses.
Does your god rule through fear?
Or anger?
Or mask it’s hate as love
and love as hate?

Is your god invisible?
Simply a shadow
of your past.

Is your god a pile
of rotting paperwork
sitting
mocking
laughing
at your inability to see eye to eye
with the rest of the world

Is your god a blank page
with an untouched pen?
And you laugh
realizing that in this instance
You are god.

Does your god even care?

So... critiques? Thoughts? Haha thanks for reading my scattered- brained poems.

I guess I should explain some. In the beginning of the school year, I was stuck into a private Christian school at last second (the day after it started). Now, it's a wonderful school, and the staff is super nice and welcoming. They understood that students actually have a life outside of school, and did everything in their power to not give us too much homework. I do love many aspects of the school.

Unfortunately, I struggled adapting to it, and some days I was disappointed with the attitude of the students (many just say "oh, God will take care of me" and not do any work). Not all of the students were like that, but there were enough to seriously bug me. Much of the year has been me trying to decide if I stay or not for my Juinor/Senior years. Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens...

Hopefully I'll be back posting soon, once school's out. I'll probably have about a week left once this is posted... haha the scheduled posts make me feel like I'm writing a letter to the future!

Anatomy Rap

The other day we were asked to write a rap/poem/song/story about the Endocrine System. So Anne and I wrote a rap! Actually, it's a parody of Macklemore's "Can't Hold Us"... yep, so here it is :p

"Endocrine System"

Endocrinology, listen up!
Where it is, what it does, what it is, what it isn’t.
Learning ‘bout a system that’s controlling all the hormones
Like the Pituitary, Pineal, Parathyroid and others
They’re up! Brain base, respectively, center of the brain, right around the throat
Somewhere above the thymus and thyroid. Endocrine, yep, yep, we’re not androids
Yup. Throat, location, this here is our thyroid, close above the thymus,
And they’re all near the head
Going down, I shed my skin and see my adrenals on my kidneys, and then, for the Women there’s the ovaries
And yet I’m not done.
Pituitary glands control all else,
The pineal glands always help you to sleep really well.
Pancreas, regulates sugar in the body with insulin
Parathyroid controls the growth of the bones,
The thymus creates T-cells so disease leaves you alone
Adrenals pump the adrenaline, rapid heart and breathing
Got ducts? They’re the E-X-O-C-R-I-N-E glands,
Endocrine go straight to the bloodstream, can they be ductless? Yes they can.
Ovaries and testes are located downstairs,
They control reproduction and they work together as a pair

Ducts
Not like duck duck goose,
The kind with glands and duct duct juice
Spread it across the body
Ducts out here,
Now there’s the Exocrine,
Pumpin’ substance to the outside,
And the Endocrine, which keeps it all inside

Wait ‘till we go back, this is the body
These are the glands and all of their functions
So we put them in a song it’s the endocrine system
It’s the endocrine system
Wait ‘till we go back, this is the body
These are the glands and all of their functions
So we put them in a song it’s the endocrine system
It’s the endocrine system

Poems

The past few days I've been staying over at Grands house, and during that time I wrote three poems. Of corse, creativity doesn't strike me until it's almost midnight, so there might be a line or two that makes no sense.

Here's the first poem, it makes me think of the Doctor!

Planet by Shaak Ti/ Aithusa

I know something kind of funny,
Though others think it tragic.
The world will keep on turning,
As if it's spun by magic.

But I know that there is no string,
No rope,
No bind,
No ring.
They say it's "gravity", I know it's not.

You see, I think it's funny,
all the people in my hand.
And what if I were to drop it,
Where would it land?

I hold the world, Yes it's true,
I hold it in my hand.
No "gravity" would save it,
If I chose to let it go.
No string is there to hold it by,
No bind from earth to sky,
No ring to keep it on its orbit,
Just me.
Lonely me.
Holding a planet in my hand.

These next two are pretty much the same, just different POVs.

Moon POV by Shaak Ti/ Aithusa

Oh, the sun,
He burns so bright,
He shows himself with his own light.
But I, the moon,
Reflect my love,
And softly glow in the sky's above.

All below look away,
When the Sun brightens the day.
But when I rise, they stare,
And none will care,
When I do slip away.

Our dance is quick,
A fleeting glance,
A moment quickly slips on past.
I will rise, and he will set,
And go on into the west.

I, the moon,
Shall dance with him.
And when the worlds will end,
Our dance will be slow,
The music soft,
And not quickly come to end.

I, the moon, will dance with him,
And my light will not be soft.

Sun POV by Shaak Ti/ Aithusa

Oh, the moon,
Her light so soft,
Will show herself by night.
But I, the sun,
Will send her my love,
Into the reflecting light.

All below look to her,
And whisper at her beauty,
Her silver glow,
On winter snow,
Will melt the coldest heart.
And to travelers wide,
Shall be their guide,
In selfless kindness.

Our dance so quick,
Can it not last?
But it's gone in just a moment.
When I rise, she will set,
All will quickly vanish.

I, the Sun,
Will dance with her.
In the end,
Our paths will bend,
And put us hand in hand.
The world may die,
But us in the sky
Will dance on with day and night collided.

I, the Sun, will dance with her,
And reflections will not be needed.

My World: Winter (a poem)

My trees:
My trees are grey,
Not brown, like yours.
Not like the few red-woods
The tall, imposing redwoods
Which grow sparsely
Around my home.
Few trees turn colors,
The ones that do turn grey
few lose their leaves,
Grey, twisted, beautiful, proud;
These are my trees.

My sky:
My sky is blue, but not your blue,
My sky is a deep, sharp blue;
Fading into an ice sapphire.
Faded and stunning, the sky.
But that blue is hardly seen.
Grey. Swirling, bold, hungry,
Grey covers my sky.
The sky is like the grey kitten,
Sleeping in the shed.
Soft, kind, but is a ferice hunter.
That is my sky.

My beach:
My beach is like any other beach.
Sand, birds, rocks, the smell of dead fish and rotting sea weed.
But my beach is special.
A sunset, laughter, me as a child
Greek food, a picnic,
the bird called "Seegy".
My memories. My beach is special.
This is my beach.

My ocean:
My ocean is the largest in the world,
As I look across the bay,
The deepest blue is there
Watching calmly
Waiting to strike.
My ocean is special
The place where I sail.
My ocean is a home to many
Across much if the world
My ocean is beautiful, cold, dangerous.
This is my ocean. My cold, cold ocean.

My night sky:
My night is not like any other,
No, my night us not like yours.
The moon lights it up,
So the sky is a pale white.
When the moon hides a way,
The night is so dark,
So dark, the ink black/blue.
The sky is a blanket, the stars holes,
Showing heavens light.
Silence.
Nothing is heard.
Almost deafening.
An owls hoot,
A mountain cats paw,
Then all is silent again.
This is my night.

My world of winter:
This is my world of winter,
mine, not yours.
It is like no other.
My trees, grey and proud.
My sky, so cold, such ice.
My beach, though like any other,
Holds my memories in it's hand.
My ocean, so calm, ready to strike.
My night sky's clear sharpness,
All my own.
This is my world,
So unlike yours.
My winter world.

So basically I felt like writing a poem. Yep, that's about it.

Oh, btw, the trees are oak.
